Instagram post 2189917103390110401_8441109904 November was tough. Combined with broken nights and pressure at work, I was stressed, tired, anxious, irritable, my head is a mess and I couldn’t concentrate. But instead of doing more running and more yoga as conventional wellness gurus would advise, I withdrew. I laze out on my couch more than usual, I wasted time on Instagram more than I should, I binge on cakes and chocolates, I drank alcohol, I ate junk foods, I skipped running, yoga and meditation for two weeks. I did all that I wasn’t supposed to do. .
.

Because that’s also wellness, that's also self love. To allow yourself to feel that everything is not alright and that it doesn't have to be, to be less rigid about things you "must" do, to be not ok sometimes. I wallowed in my stress and tiredness and gave myself all the time that I needed to feel well again. .
.

Finally last weekend I felt fine again. I had brunch with my husband and we went running together. I had a short night but I don't feel too tired or irritable. I'm going to my regular yoga classes and I'm excited about my work week. .
.
We all have our struggles, particularly mothers who are juggling too many balls. The key to not burn out and crash down is balance. And balance is not just saying no, balance is also letting go. .
