Snapshots – Weekend in Dresden
That’s exactly how long I’ve been home since our Christmas holiday in the Philippines. And I think I am already suffering cabin fever. My feet are itchy. I want to board a plane and land in a city where they don’t speak English or Dutch. I want to see the sun. I want to eat in a nice restaurant where I couldn’t understand the menu. I want to getaway for the weekend.
But right now, I don’t have time.
So here I am looking back to the same time last year when I decided to buy a ticket on a whim and spend the Valentine weekend in Dresden to watch The Gregorian in live concert.
What welcomed me in Dresden was unexpected. The city was covered in snow. I was alone and I had all the time to do all I wanted. I didn’t do much sight seeing but a lot of walking. And taking photos. And drinking gluhwein to my heart’s content. And watching the saddest classical concert in exchange for dinner.
I didn’t have time to blog about the trip. Maybe one of these days. Or next winter. There was no blogging scheduled for this week actually. But my weekend in Dresden was a beautiful one so allow me to share it with you even through these photos.

European alleyways, who doesn’t love them?
Tickets and tourist maps sold in front of The Procession of Princes mural at the Georgenbau (Georgentor).
I am looking forward to my next weekend trip. Any suggestions?
